Ideas for public involvement and education:
·
Inserts in water bills
·
Signs along streets and highways indicating the presence of a protection area
·
Posters in public places informing people about source water protection
·
Public meetings
·
Employee training on materials handling practices, emergency spill situations, etc.
·
Presentations to businesses, community groups, schools and other organizations.
Public education and participation in Source Water Protection Planning is an important part of the program.  After all, if the individual consumers of water aren’t involved in the planning and protection process, it’s not likely to be very effective.

Nevada Rural Water Association’s Source Water Specialist is available to help develop educational materials, or offer educational presentations to interested groups, including schools.

Our goal is to work with your community to provide what will be most useful for you.
